The Tour Director went over and above....

I felt I just had to email you regarding a recent tour I took with your company as when someone does a really good job they should my aware. I did your 12 day east coast explorer tour from Sydney to Cairns leaving Sydney on the 24th september and ending on the 5th October TQ12. The tour Director and did an amazing job making the tour exciting and keeping us on time. She went over above what I would have expected of her and was wanderful not only with me but all of us guests on the tour. Nothing was too much trouble for her and if anyone had a problem she would go out of her way to sort it out for them. I left my mobile phone on charge in my hotel room at Rockhampton and we were 1/2 hour down the road before I realised I was quite distressed by this as it was an Iphone and not cheap to replace and not only that my whole life is on that phone I do everything on it from social networking to emails and other personal things. I told the Tour Director and imedialtely she took control of the situation by calling the hotel at Rockhampton they located my phone and advised they would express post it to our hotel we would be staying at in Cairns. I would have to be without out it for a few days but knowing I would get it back I felt relieved and carried on enjoying the tour. It was 5 days before we reached Cairns and by then I was desperate to get my phone back. We were only in Cairns for 2 nights so I started to panic. It had not arrived the next day either or on the final morning. By now I was thinking I would never get my phone back and was beside myself. The final morning we were to visit Port Douglas before being taken straight to the airport. I was due to fly to Melbourne for 3 night before flying home. When we arrived in Port Douglas the Tour Director checked with the hotel again and was again advised my phone had not arrived. She also call the hotel in Rockhampton to check they had posted it and they confirmed they had but not express post. The Tour Director took all my contact details in the UK and advised that the only thing she could do if it arrived was to post it to me in the UK as she was staying at the hotel in Cairns a fe days and then directing a tour back down to Sydney. I was so upset and resigned myself to not getting my phone back and started to think of all the important stuff I had on it. At Cairnes Airport I checked in and went through security I had been there almost an hour and was having a drink with another couple I had met on the tour who was taking the same flight as me to Melbourne when I spotted the Tour Director walking passed and wandered what she was doing there. She spotted me and came straight over and had a parcel in her hand IT WAS MY PHONE! :-) I was so happy I didn't know whether to cry or laugh. The Tour Director had gone back to the hotel and discovered it had arrived and so had come straight back to the airport to catch me before my flight to Melbourne to make sure I got it as she knew how upset i was. I Hugged her and couldn't thank her enough. I HAD MY PHONE BACK! I feel the Tour Director went over and above what I would have expected of her and feel the company she works for needs to know this as it is not often companies hear of praise only usually complaints. If APT do any employee awards I would like her to be considered for one as she made one lady very very happy and gave me a happy ending to what was an amazing holiday. Regards Cindy
