Itinerary

Day 1. Arrive Hanoi

On arrival in Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Like a Local - enjoy a special Welcome Dinner at KOTO on Van Mieu. KOTO stands for ‘know one, teach one’, and gives disadvantaged youth the opportunity to train at its culinary school.

Day 2. Hanoi

Take in Hanoi on a guided sightseeing tour, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and historic Ba Dinh Square. Like a Local - take an afternoon rickshaw ride through Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

Day 3. Hanoi, Ha Long Bay

After breakfast, travel to the World Heritage-listed Ha Long Bay. Here, transfer to a traditional wooden junk for your journey on the beautiful bay. Enjoy a Welcome Drink as you set off to sail among thousands of spectacular limestone islets. Have lunch on board passing Chicken Rock and Ti Top Island. Visit Dark and Bright Lagoon by bamboo boat. Back on board this evening, enjoy dinner and a range of entertainment options before retiring to your cabin for the night.

Day 4. Ha Long Bay

Enjoy the luxury of a full day sailing in this captivating region of Vietnam. You will relish the opportunity to stop at islands to explore, relax on the beach and go swimming in the picturesque waters. Explore Surprise Cave, one of the biggest caves in Ha Long Bay with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.

Day 5. Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, Siem Reap

Enjoy breakfast, absorbing the majestic scenery followed by a visit to Ti Top Island. Dock back at Ha Long and transfer to Hanoi for your included flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day to unwind during your indulgent stay at the Shinta Mani Resort.

Day 6. Angkor, Siem Reap

Enhance Your Journey: This morning, perhaps enjoy an optional experience, such as a cooking class. Then, on a guided tour, discover the World Heritage-listed Angkor Archaeological Park and explore the ancient wonders of this hugely important archaeological site. Later, visit the 13th-century temple Bayon. Tonight, enjoy dinner and an Apsara dance performance.

Day 7. Angkor, Siem Reap

Today, visit Ta Prohm, a temple famous for its intertwined trees. Like a Local - visit Opportunities of Development thru Art (ODA), which provides support and education for underprivileged children. This evening, cap off the day with a spectacular sunset over Angkor Wat, also located within the Angkor Archaeological Park.

Day 8. Siem Reap, Embark Cruise at Prek K’dam

Transfer to Prek K’dam and board the RV La Marguerite. This evening, after settling in to your suite, enjoy a delicious Welcome Dinner with your fellow guests.

Day 9. Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Tralach, Oudong

Enjoy a small boat excursion of the wetlands near Kampong Chhnang. You’ll then rejoin your ship and continue on to Kampong Tralach. Like a Local - enjoy an ox-cart ride. Later visit the Imperial City. Like a Local - travel by coach to Oudong for a Buddhist blessing.

Day 10. Koh Chen, Phnom Penh

Explore Koh Chen today, a small village specialising in silver and copperware. Then cruise to Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital. Enjoy dinner on the ship, followed by a Khmer folk performance on board.

Day 11. Phnom Penh

Join an excursion to the infamous Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum on the site of the Khmer Rouge’s notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21). Following lunch, take a guided tour of Phnom Penh and see the opulent Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. After dinner, perhaps step out for a walk.

Day 12. Border Crossing, Tan Chau

Spend today relaxing on board as your ship cruises to the Vietnamese border. This afternoon, perhaps attend a fruit-carving demonstration. Later, arrive in the Vietnamese town of Tan Chau.

Day 13. Tan Chau, Sa Dec

Travel along the tributaries around Tan Chau, then go ashore for a rickshaw tour, visit a lush small island and visit local artisan workshops. Afterwards, perhaps attend a lecture on Vietnam in the ship’s lounge.

Day 14. Sa Dec, Cai Be

This morning, take a boat ride to Sa Dec for a tour. After lunch, a local boat takes you to the river-land town of Cai Be to explore its incredible floating markets. Then go ashore to see Cai Be’s French Gothic Cathedral and visit a local rice paper manufacturer to learn how rice paper is made. This evening, return to your ship and enjoy your last night on board with a Farewell Dinner.

Day 15. Disembark Ship, Cu Chi Tunnels, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Disembark at My Tho Port today and travel by coach to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a tunnel network built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the Vietnam War. Part of a larger network, the tunnels were used by Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots during combat. Special Stay - be close to the action at Grand Hotel Saigon.

Day 16. Ho Chi Minh City
