Clustered by historic houses and studded with low bridges, Amsterdam’s network of 17th-century canals lends the city its nickname, ‘Venice of the North’. Board a glass-top boat and glide past the city’s impressive waterside facades. Enjoy some free time before travelling by coach via Rembrandt’s Windmill to Utrecht. Enjoy a Gala Dinner this evening.
Cologne, Augustusburg Castle
Pay a visit to World Heritage-listed Augustusburg Castle and Falkenlust hunting lodge, the lavish rococo-style residences of archbishop-elector Clemens August.
As you cruise into Cologne, marvel at the magnificent twin spires of its famous cathedral, the Kölner Dom, before disembarking your ship and taking a short drive to the town of Brühl. On a tour of the 18th-century castle, learn enthralling stories of its infamous former resident and marvel at the ornate staircase, with marble and stucco work by Balthasar Neumann. Enjoy a guided walk through the landscaped parks and flowering gardens to Falkenlust hunting lodge, where the archbishop would come to practice his favourite sport, falconry, and share supper with members of the court. Later this afternoon, return to Cologne and enjoy some time to drift through this enchanting city at leisure and perhaps inspect the facade of the Cologne Cathedral up close.
Rhine Gorge, Rüdesheim
Cruise through the Rhine Gorge, considered by locals to be the most beautiful section of the Rhine River. Dock in Rüdesheim and take the Winzerexpress mini-train to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum.

Arrive in the evocative town of Miltenberg on the confluence of the Tauber and Main rivers. Return to your ship and enjoy some free time to enjoy the onboard facilities while your ship glides along the Main River. As the sun sets, watch the lights of medieval towns as you cruise through the night.
Verdant hills and vineyards sit on the edge of Würzburg, while the Main River is a prominent feature of this stunning city. The architectural beauty that defines Würzburg is on show today as you admire its Würzburg Residence. Here, a walk through Court Garden is a true delight.
Explore World Heritage-listed Bamberg on a guided tour. Walk amongst the 18th-century mansions and numerous breweries that line the city’s beautiful, historic centre. Later, your ship will reach the Main-Danube Canal.
The site of Hitler’s now infamous Nuremberg rallies, held annually from 1927 to 1938, Nuremberg played a pivotal role for the Nazis during World War II. You’ll learn about the city and indeed the era during a World War II tour, which includes such sites as the Zeppelin Field and the Palace of Justice. After, continue over the Main-Danube Canal.
Enjoy a traditional Bavarian experience on board. Sample local beer and snacks, accompanied by traditional folk music, song and dance.
Sail along the Danube River to the enchanting town of Regensburg, located in the southern region of the Bavarian Forest. Here, a guided tour along its maze of cobblestone lanes tells of the medieval town’s journey through the ages.
Awake in the pretty ‘Three Rivers City’ of Passau, where the rivers Inn and Ilz join the Danube. Then cruise across the border into Austria.
Dock in Melk and join a local guide for a tour through magnificent Melk Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery since 1089 that sits majestically atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube River. Afterwards, cruise to Dürnstein where you can walk over cobbled streets past 16th-century town houses and taverns. The town is dominated by the hilltop ruins of the castle where King Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned in 1192.
Pay a visit to the famous Naschmarkt. Browse the fresh produce stalls and perhaps sample some local delicacies.
Embrace the splendour of the former Habsburg empire and the sheer elegance of Vienna as you drive around the Ringstrasse this morning. You’ll learn about some of the city’s most famous buildings – the Vienna State Opera, the Museum of Fine Arts and more – as well as the rich classical music culture and history. Upon arriving in the city centre, join a walking tour for an insider’s view on a number of the best-loved landmarks, including St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben, Hofburg Palace and the Albertina.

With the day at leisure, you have further opportunity to immerse yourself in the delights of Austria’s grand capital. You may like to wander through the lovely Hofburg area – home to the Imperial Treasury and the Spanish Riding School – or wander along Kärntnerstrasse, the city’s famous shopping strip.
Cruise into the heart of enchanting Budapest today. Disembark and see the city through the expert eyes of your local guide as you explore the Fisherman’s Bastion, Heroes’ Square, Buda Castle and more. This evening, enjoy a magical twilight cruise along the Danube River, watching Budapest's riverside monuments sparkle.

The tours and tour guides top of the line and so knowledgeable. The hot drink when we arrived back onboard was most welcome. Our cabin was comfortable and plenty of room to store everything.
