Day 1. Arrive Santiago (Chile)

Arrive in Santiago, the vibrant Chilean capital. Situated in the Santiago basin, this metropolis is spectacularly flanked by the Andes and enjoys one of the most magnificent settings of any city in the world. On arrival, be met and transferred to your hotel. Later, this evening enjoy a Welcome Reception.

    Day 2. Santiago, Valparaíso

    Head off to explore the picturesque port city of Valparaíso, one of the South Pacific’s most important seaports. On arrival here, take a sightseeing tour of the World Heritage-listed town centre including Cerro Alegre, Concepción and Sotomayor square. Drive up into the surrounding hills to absorb the stunning vistas of the bay and the colourful city below. Later, return to Santiago for the rest of the day at leisure.

    Day 3. Santiago, Buenos Aires (Argentina)

    This morning take in Santiago’s modern and historic sites on a guided tour. Enjoy a walking tour around the Plaza de Armas, civic square and see the Moneda Presidential Palace. This afternoon fly to the lively city of Buenos Aires in Argentina. On arrival, check in to your hotel and settle in before the remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.

    Day 4. Buenos Aires

    Your in-depth sightseeing tour of Buenos Aires begins this morning at the Avenida de Mayo. See the pink Casa Rosada (Government House), the city’s cathedral and the Cabildo, Buenos Aires’ first city hall. Like a Local - visit Café Tortoni, an amazing coffee house with a rich history. Here, indulge in a coffee and a selection of Spanish delicacies. Later, explore the Italian-influenced barrio of La Boca and its famously colourful pedestrian street, the Caminito.     Day 7. Rio de Janeiro

    Soak up Rio de Janeiro’s unique atmosphere with most of the day at leisure. In the evening, embark on a romantic sunset cable car ride up to the majestic peak of Sugarloaf Mountain, where sublime views await. A Taste of Rio de Janeiro - later this evening, head to a local restaurant to sample Brazil’s national cocktail, the caipirinha, before enjoying a delicious Brazilian BBQ dinner.

    Day 9. Rio de Janeiro, Iguassu Falls (Brazil & Argentina)

    Fly from Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu Falls, a system of 275 falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. On the Brazilian side, experience the majesty of World Heritage-listed Iguassu National Park with a half-day tour. Walk through the subtropical rainforest and take in breathtaking panoramic views of the falls.

    Day 10. Iguassu Falls

    On the Argentinian side, ride the Rainforest Ecological Train to a series of walkways and viewing points. Travel through Cusco to Chincheros, a city located in the stunning Andean highlands. Like a Local - during a traditional weaving demonstration, see how the colourful materials of South America are created by local people, and learn of their importance in preserving ancient traditions.     Day 15. Machu Picchu, Cusco

    With the morning free, perhaps revisit Machu Picchu. Re-board the Vistadome train for your journey to Ollantaytambo station, before a coach returns you to Cusco. Enjoy a delicious Peruvian dinner and traditional folklore show at the Tunupa Restaurant Bar and Grill this evening. Special Stay - stay at the Palacio del Inka, complemented by original structures of a 16th century colonial building.

    Day 17. Cusco, Lake Titicaca

    Take a coach to the city of Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Along the way, you’ll stop at the small town of Andahuaylillas, known for its picturesque Sistine Chapel. You’ll also stop for a hearty buffet lunch. On arrival in Puno, this evening is at your leisure.

    Day 18. Lake Titicaca, Lima

    Set on the border of Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is the highest altitude lake in the world. This morning you have a chance to take a select experience visit to Sillustani or site back and enjoy the views from your hotel.
    Enhance your journey: Visit the Sillustani burial site, made up of huge cylindrical tombs where the Pukara culture used to bury their elite (own expense).
    Like a Local - Set out on a cruise over the lake to the extraordinary home of the Uros people - a group of more than 40 man-made islands created from floating reeds. On this remarkable trip, you’ll enjoy an insight into the Uros’ unique way of life and experience the spectacular scenery that characterises the region.
