Travelmarvel's Health & Safety Protocols
As we prepare to welcome you on one of our river cruises, we have made a few changes to ensure that you, your fellow travellers and our crews are kept safer than ever. The wellbeing of everyone onboard has always been of paramount importance, and we have taken steps to elevate our health and hygiene measures further still so that you can travel with Travelmarvel with complete confidence.
We are working closely with the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), IG River Cruise (the European river cruise association), as well as local and international health authorities to deliver the highest level of passenger and crew health and hygiene on our ships. We align our protocols with the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) COVID-19 protocols for Safe Travels.
Health screenings and COVID-19 testing as required, enhanced sanitation and small group excursions are just some of the changes you will see on our cruises – though the quality of the service, dining, relaxation and enjoyment that you will experience will remain at the same high standard as they always have.
Before you Leave Home
Vaccination
For all our cruises, all our guests must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination status must adhere to the state or country requirement at the time, which may mean boosters are required. Vaccines need to be up to date. Prior to your tour we require you to upload your Government issued international vaccination certificate to our secure portal for us to record that you are fully vaccinated (we won’t keep a copy of the certificate). During your tour you may need to show your Government issued vaccination certificate depending on country rules – this should be the international vaccination certificate.
Travel insurance
Travelling from Australia/New Zealand - Consider protecting your travel plans with a travel insurance policy that’s right for you. Ask our travel experts to quote on an nib Travel Insurance policy.
Health Screening
You will be asked to complete a Health Questionnaire prior to your departure, which must be handed to your crew at embarkation.
Airlines
In addition to APT Travel Group’s Safe Journeys guidelines, the airline you are flying with will have their own guidelines. We ask guests to check these prior to departure.
While you are travelling with Travelmarvel
Social Distancing
Part of the magic of your Travelmarvel cruise is the handpicked sightseeing experiences that immerse you in local culture, history and traditions, and we’ve been working hard to bring you the same amazing shore excursions safely. For example, you’ll notice that our excursions are conducted in small group sizes to allow for social distancing; and we are working with destinations, their local health authorities, and other key partners to ensure that our stringent health and safety standards are met when you’re off the ship. Please note where social distancing is not possible, you may be required to wear a face mask by venues we visit on shore.
Hand Sanitiser
Hand sanitiser stations will be available on board the ship. All guests and crew are required to sanitise their hands when coming back on board the ship, when entering public spaces and before all meals.
Masks
Masks are not required on board the ships. However, we do recommend you bring a supply of masks with you should the situation change and you may be required to wear a face mask by venues we visit on shore. We will have masks available to purchase on board.
Infection Response Protocols
Guests who present with any COVID-19 symptoms will likely be required to take a test and immediately isolate within their suite alongside any members of the same travelling party sharing the suite. Our crew and staff on board will work through the necessary testing requirements, you will be in safe and caring hands. Our aim is to minimise disruption to all passengers when this occurs.
Ship Health & Safety Features
Enhanced Cleaning Commitments
We have enhanced the rigorous cleaning and hygiene processes on board our fleet for your comfort and protection. Increased sanitation practices will ensure that your ship is spotless. All public areas, such as dining rooms and outside railings, will be regularly disinfected with hospital-grade cleaning products throughout the day. Staterooms and suites will also be thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis.
Ventilation
For your wellbeing, all staterooms and suites on our ships have their own air circulation systems. All the air you breathe comes directly from outside, is always fresh and never recirculated. Air conditioning filters are cleaned and disinfected frequently, and completely sanitised on the day of each new embarkation.
Healthy Crew
Delivering your dream holiday requires a healthy and happy crew. Every member of your Travelmarvel team will be undertaking daily health screenings and regular COVID-19 tests to make sure they stay that way. These highly-skilled individuals are already experts in service delivery, and we’ve taken their health, safety and COVID-19 prevention training to the next level too; as experts in keeping everyone on board safe, they’ll be treating health and hygiene with the same reverence as they do the enjoyment of your cruise.
