Admire the towering sand dunes in the region as you make your way through the unspoilt desert beauty of the Namib Desert towards Sossusvlei Lodge, your home for the next two nights.


Today’s adventure takes you to Sossusvlei, home to the famous pan as well as the haunting yet spectacular Deadvlei. Translating to ‘dead marsh’, this area is every photographer’s paradise; the contrast of colours from the dark, dead camel thorn trees growing out from the white pan floor makes for a striking image. En route to your lodge, delight in a picnic lunch among the sand dunes.

INSIDER EXPERIENCE

Discover Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan found at the tail of the Tsauchab River in one of Africa’s largest conservation areas. Set off for the sand dunes this morning on a 4WD adventure, travelling through a riverbed of thick sand as you traverse the desert landscape to take in some of the world’s tallest sand dunes. The largest is known as Big Daddy and reaches approximately 325 metres.

Dinner this evening is at renowned The Tug Restaurant, complete with views of the Atlantic Ocean. Savour fresh seafood, dry-aged meats and enticing desserts.


En route to Swakopmund, make a stop at Welwitschia Plains and discover the Welwitschia, an ancient plant unique to the plant kingdom found on the Namibian coat of arms. Continue to the Moon Landscape, otherwise known as 'Moon Valley'. Stop to admire the rocky granite valley which has been carved by the Swakop River over millions of years to produce the picturesque, moon-like landscape it is today. You’ll then make your way onwards to Swakopmund, Namibia’s adventure capital.

The day is yours to discover Swakopmund at your own pace. Perhaps take a leisurely stroll along the seaside promenade, or wander the city’s streets and admire the Germanic-inspired architecture, evidence of the city’s colonial past. Rise early for an exciting morning of game driving.


Etosha National Park is home to a salt pan so large, the vast, white expanse can be seen from space. Despite this, wildlife is abundant. Animal sightings are almost guaranteed around the park’s waterholes. Look out for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, lions and giraffes that call the park home. After heavy rain, the salt pan also attracts flocks of brightly-coloured flamingoes. This evening, you may like to embark on an exciting night safari to spot rare wildlife – additional expense.

INSIDER EXPERIENCE

Visit AfriCat, a centre for conservation, education and rehabilitation for the predatory cats of Africa. The mission here is clear: to achieve the long-term conservation of Namibia’s large carnivores through education. Here, you can discover more about the large cats and visit cheetahs in the rehabilitation enclosures.


Following breakfast, head back to Windhoek, stopping for your Insider Experience. Afterwards, enjoy a light lunch before continuing onwards to Windhoek. This evening, delight in a special Farewell Dinner.

A city alive with creativity, colour and natural beauty, be ready to fall in love with Cape Town today as you ride a cableway to the summit of Table Mountain. This 600 million-year-old mountain stands at a soaring 1,085 metres above sea level. See the waterfall-like clouds which roll off the top of the mountain, often dubbed the ‘table cloth’. Since its opening in 1929, the Table Mountain cableway has transported more than 16 million visitors to the summit. Afterwards, enjoy a tour of the city. The afternoon has been left free for you to spend how you like. Perhaps you may like to take a ferry to Robben Island; explore the densely vegetated Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain; join an African Heritage Tour; or visit the Constantia Wine Valley for a tour and a tasting in this historic wine-making region.

Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Take in the stunning geological Knysna Heads, two hulking rock formations emerging from the ocean at the mouth of Knysna lagoon. You may like to take to Knysna’s crystal-clear waters on a whale watching cruise, in search of the gentle giants which pass through these waters.

You’ll be whisked to a private concession of land within Kruger National Park, home to Shishangeni Private Lodge.


Depart Knysna and continue along the Garden Route. Afterwards, continue along the Storms River Mouth and through Tsitsikamma Forest on the way to Port Elizabeth. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Climb aboard your open-sided 4WD vehicle and set off on an exciting morning game drive. The sun is yet to reach its peak, the temperature is still cool and animals are very active. Many predators usually return from a night of hunting around this time. After lunch, enjoy the chance to head out once more into the bush with a guide.

After breakfast, transfer back to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg. You may like to spend some time exploring Soweto, a city with a tumultuous past and a rich heritage. Visit the Mandela House Museum and discover the Hector Pieterson Memorial.

Take an included flight to Victoria Falls today. On arrival, set out on a guided walk to view the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. At 108 metres high and spanning some 1,688 metres, the falls are known as the largest curtain of falling water in the world. You’ll then travel to Zambia and check in to your resort, located just minutes from the Zambian side of the falls.

Cross the Zambezi River by ferry into Botswana and onwards to renowned Chobe National Park. The park is known for having one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. Go in search of elephants, with a game drive through the park. At sunset, head out on a game-viewing cruise along the Chobe River and observe the herds of elephants that gather at the riverbank at this time of the day.

During this morning’s game drive, you’ll have many chances to spot Africa’s famous mammals thanks to the park’s high density of elephant herds and lion prides. Buffalo, zebras, antelope, including lechwe, may be seen here too, as well as an abundance of birdlife. You will also delight in a cruise along the Chobe River, which offers you a unique way of viewing game and the picturesque African sunset.
