There’s plenty of history to uncover on a tour through York, Western Australia’s first inland town.
Set out across the stunning Darling Ranges on the way to the charming town of York. After today’s Insider Experience, continue to Hyden to see the incredible granite cliff formation of Wave Rock. The spectacular curved cliff is 15 metres high and 110 metres long.

Daily :Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie
Journey to Coolgardie and discover the site of Western Australia’s original gold rush. Continue onwards to Kalgoorlie, where more than half of the gold mined in Australia is sourced.

Daily :Kalgoorlie, Lake Lefroy, Esperance
Head for Lake Lefroy and marvel at the stark white salt pans that stretch into the distance. Continue to the beautiful seaside town of Esperance.
Stay: Esperance, Comfort Inn Bay of Isles Motel
Daily :Esperance, Pink Lake, Stirling Range National Park, Albany
Take in the sights of Esperance, including Twilight Bay and Pink Lake. Then drive through the Stirling Range and meet a local wildflower expert. From Bluff Knoll, see the jagged peaks towering over bushland dotted with wildflowers in the spring. Later, arrive in Albany.

Head to the Valley of the Giants, a world-famous forest of gigantic tingle trees. Visit the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, the most southwesterly point on mainland Australia. Arrive in Margaret River, where you’ll enjoy the evening at leisure.

ENHANCE YOUR JOURNEY
Go beneath the surface of Geographe Bay and observe more than 300 species of incredible marine life at the Busselton Jetty Underwater Observatory (own expense).
Spend the morning exploring the coastal town of Busselton at your leisure. You may like to stroll the 1.8-kilometre jetty for stunning views out over Geographe Bay. Alternatively, enjoy a stroll along the foreshore, peruse the local shops or head out for a bite to eat for lunch. This afternoon, return to Perth where your tour concludes.
Daily :Every day information about the history of the places we were going to was always presented. This was great for me as I am a history buff.
