As we make our way southwards, today is spent at sea. The excitement builds as the Antarctic wildlife begins to come into view. Keep both eyes open for birds such as albatross and petrels, and perhaps first sightings of penguins, seals and whales. As we approach the Antarctic Peninsula, the planned route includes highlights such as Cuverville Island, Gerlache Strait, the Lemaire Channel. Here you’ll see several different species of penguin, from chinstrap, to Adélie and cheeky Gentoo.
