Littered with cobblestoned streets, well preserved colonial architecture and churches, wake early this morning in Colombia’s cultural epicentre. Your sightseeing begins with a visit to the traditional Plaza de Paloquemao market. With over 1,800 market stands, including fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, flowers and handicrafts, enjoy a guided tour of the colourful hall and be spoilt for choice at the numerous options. Afterwards, savour a city walking tour, where you will embrace the contrasts between cosmopolitan and colonial. Take in iconic locations such as La Candelaria, Plaza Bolívar and its Cathedral, as well as the Palace of Justice, Parliament and Town Hall. You’ll also marvel at Bogotá’s Botero Museum, abounding with an outstanding collection of contemporary art, followed by an excursion to the Gold Museum. Take a tour of the imposing cavernous salt cathedral and go some 190 metres underground to see the largest cross ever built below the earth’s surface.
After breakfast this morning, travel from Bogotá to the historic town of Zipaquirá. Known for its famed salt mines, Zipaquirá today still churns out almost half of Colombia’s salt resources. Then, after a brief stop at the Sisga Dam, be transferred to Villa de Leyva, a beautiful well-preserved village which was once a summer residence for Colombian bishops. A true coffee lover’s dream, this is evident as Armenia was declared a World Heritage Site in 2011 as the Coffee Culture Landscape of Colombia. On arrival, check into your boutique bamboo hacienda. A hidden gem in Colombia’s coffee triangle, spend two nights in rural paradise surrounded by the mountains of the Central Andes Range. Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel.

This morning, journey to the Cocora Valley. Home of the national tree and symbol of Colombia, the Quindío wax palm, enjoy a walking tour of the valley and cloud forest which is at an altitude between 2,000-2,400 metres. Upon return, you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the valley for traditional fare. Here, be treated to authentic Colombian dishes, including the cherished trucha al ajillo (grilled trout in garlic sauce). Afterwards, stop for a tour of Salento. Nestled in the foothills of the Andes, walk the charming colourful streets before being guided to El Mirador viewpoint for views of the Cocora Valley and Los Nevados National Natural Park.Daily :
Today you will learn the process of coffee production in a traditional coffee hacienda.
On a sensorial tour, follow the procedures of growing, harvesting and peeling of beans, and learn about the particular attributes and differences between acidity, body, balance and aromas. Savour three different coffee tastings before being transferred to the airport for your flight to Cartagena, via Bogotá. Enjoy the evening at leisure.

Wake early this morning and get to know the Caribbean coastal city of Cartagena better with a visit to La Popa. At the highest point of Cartagena, explore this charming hilltop, including a 16th century monastery. From here, enjoy the outstanding views that stretch over the city which was once a centre of extreme wealth, where the looted treasures of the Incas from Peru and Bolivia were stored for shipping. Later, visit Fort San Felipe which was built to protect Cartagena against attacks from land or sea. Today you will explore the World Heritage-listed military fortress and labyrinthine corridors before walking through the colonial Old Town.
