Today you’ll arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport, located near the charming fishing village of Negombo. On arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, the Jetwing Lagoon, for an overnight stay.

Negombo, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya
Situated on 22 acres with its own jungle and offering views of Sigiriya Rock, unwind at the luxurious Aliya Resort and Spa.
After breakfast, head to Anuradhapura, where you’ll embark on a city tour. Discover the palaces and stupas of the enthralling Cultural Triangle, then continue to Sigiriya to enjoy a Welcome Dinner.
Stay: Two Nights: Sigiriya, Aliya Resort and Spa
This morning you will travel to the World Heritage-listed ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya, which currently stands in ruin. Admire the spectacular geological formation, sometimes referred to as Lion Rock, which rises 200 metres above sea level. Equally superb are the surrounds, including the beautiful gardens, moats and ramparts. If you are feeling active, perhaps climb the rock fortress for spectacular views at its summit. Later this afternoon, enjoy a tour of the well-preserved, ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa, which include a Royal Palace and four splendid statues of Buddha carved out of rock. At the end of the day, you’ll be transported back to your hotel in Sigiriya.
Sigiriya, Dambulla, Kandy
Nestled in the picturesque hilltops of Kandy, Amaya Hills is a breathtaking retreat that looks out onto the lush green mountains of Hanthana. With its design inspired by a traditional Kandyan palace, experience a tasteful mingling of Kandyan culture with fabulous contemporary trimmings.
Today you will enjoy lunch and a cooking demonstration at Spice Gardens, followed by a traditional head and shoulder massage.
After breakfast, venture to the World Heritage-listed Dambulla Cave Temple. Within the cave complex are incredible Buddha images and rock paintings dating from 200BC until the 18th century. Explore the five caves, containing ornate statues and ancient art relating to the life of Buddha. Feeling relaxed and satisfied, you’ll then travel on to your hotel in Kandy.

Following breakfast this morning, you will visit the stunningly beautiful Botanical Gardens. With a fine collection of orchids, these gardens are the pride of the local people. Here, you will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch and marvel at the picturesque Kandy Lake - a spectacular feature in the heart of the city. In the afternoon, a guided sightseeing tour of Kandy includes a visit to the Temple of the Tooth, which houses one of Buddhism’s most sacred relics - the tooth of Buddha. Later today, enjoy an enthralling cultural performance before sitting down to a tantalising dinner made by expert chefs.
Kandy, Nuwara Eliya
This morning, head to Peradeniya to board a unique train and journey to Nanu Oya. Travel in style in the observation carriage, taking in superb views of the sublime hill country.
After disembarking, visit a tea plantation and try the finest Ceylon tea in the world. Enjoy lunch at Ramboda Falls before arriving at Nuwara Eliya. This is the most important tea-growing region in Sri Lanka, and a place blessed with sweeping, leafy landscapes. Indulge in a cocktail prepared by your Tour Director at sunset.

Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains National Park
Take to a Jeep today to explore the unique flora and fauna of World Heritage-listed Horton Plains National Park, where the main attractions include the World’s End and Baker’s Falls, a sheer escarpment with a depth of 900 metres. Afterwards, perhaps hike to the World’s End, or alternatively, transfer to the picturesque Hakggala Gardens and enjoy a short walk. This evening, enjoy time at leisure.
Nuwara Eliya, Yala National Park
Nestled amid splendid vegetation, enjoy both style and privacy at the premium Jetwing Yala.
Today, head to the spectacular Yala National Park. On the way, visit an elephant transit home and Ella Gap. This afternoon, learn more about the leopards you’re likely to see tomorrow.

Yala National Park, Galle, Ahungalla
Venture out on a morning leopard safari in Yala National Park, in search of these magnificent creatures. Later, travel to Galle, a fortified city built centuries ago by the Portuguese. After a guided sightseeing tour here, you’ll continue on to your stunning beach hotel in Ahungalla. With the evening yours to enjoy at leisure, you may wish to explore the city or otherwise take a stroll on the beach.

Set out on a river boat safari and explore the mangrove caves, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch amidst the beautiful surrounds. Return to your stunning hotel right on the beach and enjoy the remainder of the day to relax and unwind.
Travel to the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, home to a diverse range of races, religions and cultures that interweave with a rich colonial heritage. Here, enjoy a guided tour of the city, including the Walukarama Temple and Pettah Bazaar. While on the tour, you’ll witness a land of contrasts, with mansions and lush gardens standing adjacent to shantytowns and street markets. Later this evening, enjoy a special Farewell Dinner.

Your Splendours of Sri Lanka journey comes to an end after breakfast, as you are transferred to nearby Bandaranaike International Airport.
