Tastes of Northern Territory

What could be more Australian than a barbecue feast in the heart of the Outback? Travelmarvel guests can experience this memorable dining experience for themselves on selected Northern Territory tours at Kings Canyon Resort. The resort lies between Alice Springs and Uluru, deep in spectacular Watarrka National Park and close by majestic Kings Canyon.

It’s a casual and lively affair, eating a set menu of Territory fare in an expansive, covered outdoor space. Just nearby is a viewing platform for gazing at the endless starry sky between courses. Afterwards you might like to drop in to the resort’s famous Thirsty Dingo Bar for a yarn about your day’s experiences.
Kings Canyon is one of the Red Centre’s most impressive natural attractions – a 440-million-year-old chasm that plunges as much as 100 metres into the desert. You can walk onto the canyon floor for a sense of the scale of the place.

The iconic Rim Walk is a standout moment of any trip to the Red Centre. The hike is six kilometres, and takes up to four hours to complete, but the rewards are immense. After climbing 500 steps to the canyon rim, you begin to appreciate the spectacle of the canyon.
The Lost City is the Bungle Bungle’s beehive-striped domes in miniature, while the Garden of Eden is an unexpected lush oasis amid the sandstone cliffs. Complete this walk, and you’ll have earned your BBQ feast.
