If you have a food allergy or medical condition which needs to be managed on tour, please advise your Booking Agent before departure, and inform your Tour Director on arrival. It is also worth packing a small medical kit, as though there will be pharmacies along your tour, they can be difficult to access, and a prescription may be required for some medications.
Suggested Packing List:
Each passenger is entitled to take one piece of luggage that does not exceed 20kg (44lbs) and 160cm when all dimensions are added together.
When packing, we recommend casual and comfortable clothing. Consider the season of the destination you are travelling to. More information on specific countries climate can be found in our extensive travel guides.
Some countries are very conservative, and you should dress accordingly. As a general guideline, shoulders and knees should be covered (for both men and women) when entering buildings of a religious nature and family homes. When entering temples and pagodas, shoes and socks may need to be removed. Smart casual clothing is acceptable when you dine at restaurants, or on board. Guests are not permitted to enter restaurants barefoot or wearing bathing attire.
Dining
All meals are prepared by our onboard chefs and consist of Western and Asian-style cuisine.
Please note that special dietary requirements will need to be advised to Travelmarvel prior to your sailing to ensure that we are able to cater for this.
Beverages
International wine is available with lunch and dinner. Soft drinks, juice, and coffee are available all day. International wine, beer and spirits can be purchased outside of meal times from the bar and charged back to your room account.
Dress Code
For excursions casual, comfortable clothing and flat shoes are recommended. Your luggage should include a breathable windproof/waterproof jacket, warm jumper, warm hat, hat with brim and walking trousers/shorts. It is also advisable to pack several smart casual outfits for evenings and a more formal clothing for the Welcome Dinner.
Laundry
Laundry and pressing services are available on board. Price lists will be available in your cabin. For safety reasons, it is not permitted to use an iron in your cabin. Please note that due to the remoteness of the cruise, the prices can be higher than standard.
Currency
The accepted currency on board Travelmarvel Mekong River cruises in Vietnam and Cambodia are US Dollars. Only Debit Cards, Credit Cards or cash are accepted as payment onboard the cruise.
For purchases off the ship, we recommend carrying a small amount of local currency for markets, otherwise credit, debit or traveller cards are recommended.
Please note that some prepaid traveller cards do not work in Asia, for that reason we recommend passengers bring a credit card as a backup should this occur.
Dining
Great cuisine is an integral part of your Travelmarvel experience, and we ensure that many of your dining events will be memorable holiday experiences. We pay careful attention to the negotiation of our menus, to ensure choice and a healthy variety of quality food that caters to all tastes is offered.
Meals that are included in your tour price are clearly indicated on your itinerary.
* Dietary requests will always be taken into consideration and fulfilled where possible, but they cannot be guaranteed. If you have special dietary requirements, please contact us as soon as possible.
Personal Expenses
You will need money to cover refreshments, meals (when not included) and activities on free days. You may also wish to budget for non-touring activities that do not appeal to everyone but will be made available, such as scenic flights, helicopter rides or cruises, to mention but a few.
