Land and 4WD Journeys
We are very excited to have you join us to explore Australia. Below are a few key bits of information you will want to know before departing on your Australian Travelmarvel Land and 4WD adventure.

If you have a food allergy or medical condition which needs to be managed on tour, please advise your Booking Agent before departure, and inform your Tour Director on arrival. It is also worth packing a small medical kit, as though there will be pharmacies along your tour, they can be difficult to access, and a prescription may be required for some medications.
Suggested Packing List:
It is recommended that you consider the time of year you are travelling and bring a variety of warm and cool clothing to suit the climate. Pack sufficient lightweight, comfortable clothing and ensure you have appropriate footwear. Drip-dry clothing is easy to launder and does not require ironing.
Summer (December to February) – Australia is warm to hot, with occasional thunderstorms in the north. We recommend light clothes and loose natural fibres, which are good for humid tropical regions.
Winter (June to August) – Southern winters are cool and inland nights are cold. We suggest medium-weight woollens, a coat and raincoat. In the north, it will be warm and dry but cool at night.
4WD Vehicles
Our custom built 4WD vehicles are designed to take you over rugged terrain in comfort, safety, and style. As standard they feature: seat belts, air-conditioning, a toilet/restroom, PA system, reclining seats and large tinted windows to protect you from the sun, while providing unimpeded views.
Touring Coaches
Travelmarvel’s modern coaches provide you with premier touring. As standard, they feature seat belts, air-conditioning with individual controls, a toilet/restroom, a video screen, reclining seats with footrests, phone communication extending to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Australia only), panoramic windows and plenty of room to be comfortable on your journey.
Mobility
On tour a good level of health and fitness is required to undertake walks in hot conditions or uneven terrain. If you have trouble with balance walking poles can be a great help.
Before your tour we recommend walking three times a week to build up your fitness.
Early Starts
Our Western Australia and Kimberley tours often have early starts, so be prepared to get up before the sunrise.
Seat Rotation
To ensure everyone gets to enjoy front and window seats, a daily seat rotation system will be employed.
Dining
Great cuisine is an integral part of your Travelmarvel experience, and we ensure that many of your dining events will be memorable holiday experiences. We pay careful attention to the negotiation of our menus, to ensure choice and a healthy variety of quality food that caters to all tastes is offered. Meals are always accompanied by tea and coffee.
Meals that are included in your tour price are clearly indicated on your itinerary.
* Dietary requests will always be taken into consideration and fulfilled where possible, but they cannot be guaranteed. If you have special dietary requirements, please contact us as soon as possible.
Personal Expenses
You will need money to cover refreshments, meals (when not included) and activities on free days. You may also wish to budget for non-touring activities that do not appeal to everyone but will be made available, such as scenic flights, helicopter rides or cruises, to mention but a few.
Dress Code
Most people dress casually on tour, however, for the evenings you might want to wear something a little smarter.
Laundry
You will not need to bring a lot of luggage on tour, as most of the hotels utilised offer free or coin-operated laundry facilities. Ironing facilities are also available either in the hotel laundry or supplied in your room.
